“The Anti-Monopoly Law for Startups” symposium, held on June 23, 2021, was successfully closed with more than 40 participants from universities, law offices and the industry.
Ms. Ikeda, Kyulux’s legal manager, talked about the industry-academia-government collaboration in Kyulux, as a university spin-off startup, engaging in the business of developing next-generation OLED materials.
Ms. Ikeda focused on the challenges that Japanese startups are likely to face in the course of business collaboration with partner companies, as well as the examples of issues raised in negotiating contracts with multi-national companies while protecting its own innovative technology. Kyulux’s efforts to prevent violations of the Anti-Monopoly Law were also introduced.
