Kyulux has announced recent management changes and our new CEO is now former CTO Junji Adachi. Mr. Adachi, a co-founder of Kyulux, is an experienced engineer and manager with 30+ years of industry experience developing organic solar cells and commercializing residential fuel cell systems at Panasonic. Mr. Adachi has extensive experience incubating and collaborating with materials startups; He holds a B.Sc. from Osaka University and was a visiting Researcher at M.I.T.
Kyulux’s new CTO is Hisashi Okada, who holds a master of science from Nagoya University and was previously Kyulux’s manager of both the R&D and IP departments. In his 30+ year career, Mr. Okada worked at Fujifilm, Samsung display and Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) and AIRI. Kyulux’s CEO, Junji Adachi, commented: ”I am very pleased to announce that Mr. Okada has been appointed as Kyulux’s new CTO. He initiated and led the OLED material development division of Fuji Film in his prior career, leading to the sale of this IP portfolio for over $105 Million in 2012. I am sure Mr. Okada’s expertise and knowledge of OLED materials, as well as his passion for innovation, will lead Kyulux to great success.”
We are also pleased to announce that Dr. Rafael Gomez-Bombarelli is now an Assistant Professor at MIT. Junji Adachi adds: ”Rafa of the Boston AI team became a faculty member in the Department of Material Science and Engineering at MIT. I greatly appreciate him continuing as a consultant to support us on HyperfluorescenceTM (4G) development”. Kyulux appointed Tim Hirzel to lead KNA and Tim is now our director of software & data engineering. All of the former Harvard team is looking forward to continuing work together at Kyulux improving discovery techniques and identifying the OLED materials of tomorrow.
